House Groups

House groups are a rewarding way to understand more about our faith. We meet in people’s homes or sometimes in church. Our groups study the Bible, often using study guides, and other topics, and apply what we have learned to our lives. Groups are supportive and most are open to new members. We grow together in fellowship in our Christian faith.

Times of meeting and leaders:
Tuesday morning (weekly – 10.30am): Joy Wilson (in Joy’s home). Every Tuesday morning 7 or 8 ladies meet together at my home to support and pray for each other and study a Biblical theme.

Wednesday afternoon (fortnightly – 2:30-4pm): Sue Larsen (in Sue’s home). This bible study group for ladies is ideal for those who want a fortnightly group, with a wide variety of topics, mostly from the Faith and Worship series by John Birch. We share, we pray, we chat, we discuss – and hopefully grow in Faith. We have a current prayer list and a dynamic WhatsApp group.

Wednesday evening (weekly – 7.30pm): Cynthia Giles and other members of the group (in various homes). This is a mixed group for those who prefer an evening meeting.

Thursday morning (weekly – 9.30 am): Revd Keith Town (Zoom Bible Study) This group works its way through books of the Bible with in-depth explanation by Keith. Questions are encouraged.

If you would like to find out more, contact the group leader at church.

Pilgrims Book Group

This group was started in the autumn of 2021 by Rev Gordon Gresswell. We have had six series of sessions so far. A book is chosen to discuss over a series of 3 or 4 weekly sessions. Ice breakers and question starters are used to encourage people to discuss the book, and lots of other things.

So far, we have read HumanKind by Rutger Bregman, Faith After Doubt by Brian McClaren, The Places In Between by Rory Stewart, A Mucky Business: Why Christians should get involved in politics, by Tim Farron MP, An Interesting Narrative of Olaudah Equiano by himself and Revelations of Divine Love by Julian of Norwich.

Pilgrims is on hold at the moment.
